Our History
Beija Flor Cottage was built in 2000 and has been in the family since 2001. It was used as a summer family retreat while the family resided overseas, initially in Brazil. The owners are both from Michigan and have moved back to the area, still using the cottage as a family gathering place in the summer. Beija Flor is a famous Brazilian samba group (Escola) that parades during Carnaval

Our History
Beija Flor Cottage is a two story modern home with central heat and A/C. The Three bedrooms are upstairs; the master has a king size bed and is en-suite with a walk in shower and a large spa bath, the second bedroom has a queen sized bed and the third has two twin beds. There is a second full bath upstairs. The upstairs also has a den with a desk, a day bed and pull out trundle.

Nestled in the Macatawa cottage neighborhood, Beija Flor Cottage offers a peaceful and serene setting that is perfect for rest and relaxation. Surrounded by rolling forested sand dunes and scenic trails, the cottage is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Enjoy the cottage association beach only a few minutes walk away and enjoy a walk to the iconic Big Red lighthouse

The wrap around porch ends in a second seating area off the kitchen sliding door. The Sanctuary Woods township park is directly behind the house.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare and serve meals.
The upstairs den has a day bed with pull out bed underneath as well as a love seat sofa bed. Lots of flexibility for our guests. The laundry room is also upstairs. Very convenient to keep your beach towels fresh!
There is a second full bath off the den.

The cottage has a two car garage and additional parking on the side.
The association beach is great for water sports and sunbathing. Don't forget about sunsets and walks to Big Red lighthouse. Sometimes you can catch a ship coming into port!
